Ros Miller

Ros qualified as a play therapist in 2023 having taught in special schools across Edinburgh for over 25 years. She helps children and families impacted by additional support needs and mental health issues to feel less anxious and more empowered.
Ros’ play therapy style is child-centred with an emphasis on regulation involving sensory integration while using a variety of communication approaches.
In addition, Ros offers family support, working directly with parents and carers, by listening and offering advice as well as providing tailored practical tools and strategies to try at home.
By working together Ros helps children cope better with the demands placed upon them and helps parents/carers feel listened to and less isolated. This integrated method helps families build confidence, connection and find hope for a better future.

Helen Forrester

Helen qualified as a Play Therapist in 1997 having previously worked in residential care. She has additional training in Filial Therapy, Clinical Supervision, Child & Parent Relationship Therapy and is a "reliable coder" for Child Attachment & Play Assessments.
Helen's particular interest is in robust assessment of children's needs. She recognises that parents, carers and professionals surrounding children can feel frustrated, worried and "at sea" when children are distressed. Building a comprehensive understanding of what underlies that distress can make all the difference to adults, helping them to know how to help effectively.
